Scheduler and Job Submission
CRESCO provides multiple workload managers to handle job scheduling and resource allocation across its systems.
Depending on the cluster, users may interact with different schedulers. The two main workload managers available on CRESCO are:
LSF (Load Sharing Facility), used on legacy systems
SLURM (Simple Linux Utility for Resource Management), adopted on newer clusters
The following sections provide an overview and usage instructions for each scheduler.
LSF
Workload manager used for batch and parallel job submission on legacy CRESCO systems.
SLURM
Modern workload manager used for resource allocation and job scheduling on newer CRESCO clusters.
