SciPy ===== A collection of open source software for scientific computing in Python. Based on Anaconda installation script. About SciPy ------------ The SciPy Stack is a collection of open source software for scientific computing in Python, and particularly a specified set of core packages that includes: - **Python**, a general purpose programming language. - **NumPy**, the fundamental package for numerical computation. - **The SciPy library**, a collection of numerical algorithms and domain-specific toolboxes, including signal processing, optimization, statistics and much more. - **Matplotlib**, a mature and popular plotting package. - **pandas**, providing high-performance, easy to use data structures. - **SymPy**, for symbolic mathematics and computer algebra. - **IPython**, a rich interactive interface, letting you quickly process data and test ideas. - **nose**, a framework for testing Python code. The SciPy installation is based on **Anaconda** minimal package. Anaconda is a completely free Python distribution. It includes more than 400 of the most popular Python packages for science, math, engineering, and data analysis. Currently Python 2.7 and Python 3 environments are available.
